More gift quilts

Here are a few more gifts I’ve quilted for others that I’ll just use some alternate names for a little fun today.

All of the following quilts are made by Dolly Madison. She is an avid quilter.  The quilting design on the quilt is Ginger Snap by Apricot Moon. The batting is Warm & Natural, quilted with a white thread.

This log cabin throw is quilted with a design by Lorien Quilting called Espalier. The thread is a silver purple and the batting is Warm and Natural. The backing fabric is a silver but the color didn’t photo true.

The design quilted on this baby quilt is a 1,2,3 meander. The crazy cat print fabric made me laugh. It’s pretty cute!

Gift Quilts

I’ve been working on some quilts that will be given as gifts so I’m posting the names of the quilting designs but the names of the piecers have been changed to protect the innocent.

Margaret Thatcher’s cute Wonky Log cabin has some pinwheel and star quilt blocks thrown in. The quilting design is called Dainty by Hermione Agee. The batting is Warm & Natural with Teal thread.

Hillary Clinton’s quilt with polka dot and paisley print fabrics has a quilting design called Pretty Paisley by Konda Luckau. The batting is Warm and Natural with silver thread.

Bill Clinton’s quilt looks a lot like Hillary’s above, yes, his and her’s quilts!  It has a different quilting design, more masculine called Window Panes by Kristin Hoftyzer. The batting is Warm and Natural and the thread is a charcoal grey.

Earthy Frames Quilt

This is a really cool quilt by Bonnie from the Kaffe Fassett book Quilts in the Sun. Unknown

The center squares are prints by Kaffe Fassett. The surrounding fabric is called Shot Cotton. Its a combination of two color threads. I took a close up photo below to show the detail of the weave. Its a very pretty fabric & very soft. The quilt back is pieced with solid and print.  Enjoy the photos!

Its been a mess at my house with some interior painting going on. Its been a challenge to work in the chaos. Most of the painting is done & the quilting is done as well but the posting photos took a back seat.  In an effort to catch up, I’m going to post a quick quilty montage.

Here it is….

ZAP Quilt

Connie used a quilting pattern called ZAP by IT’s Sew Emma. She shared that it was a fast and fun quilt to make. She chose a quilt design called Ginko Gardens, the batting is Quilters Dream Select and it was quilter with variegated thread to go with all the colors in the quilt. A solid lime green thread was used on the back of the quilt. The backing fabric is flannel.  Connie has been busy making a lot of gift quilts. Someone is going to be the lucky recipient of this beauty.

The quilt design on this is PS I Love You by Patricia Ritter. The batting is Hobbs 80/20 and the backing is Minky fabric. We had a sunny day this morning so I just let the sunshine show on these pics.
