Today I spent some time revising my studio work space. It feels so much more open with only one Longarm machine in the room. I decided to put the Juki sewing machine at the TV end. The Innova is pretty loud when it runs so I won’t have to turn it up so loud. I also moved my cutting table back in the room.
I still have a lot of stuff to sort through but it feels more organized. I need to pick out some paint and figure out what color or neutral to go with. Change is good. Winter is a great time of year to sort through it all and boy do I have some sorting ahead of me.
I can’t believe it has been 14 years since I started this venture. Here’s a photo of how much I got done today.
My Gammill Longarm machine has left Waterford. It is moving to Plymouth. The new owner, Anna, plans to start her own business. I wish her well on her new endeavor.
Getting your first Longarm machine is so exciting and a little over whelming. It will be a lot of fun for he learning the machine. It’s nice to share the joy of quilting with others.
This is the last quilt I quilted on the Gammill. It’s Cathys pineapples. The quilting design is Two Simple. I’ve got some space to fill now, cutting table, sewing machine, and ironing board should fill it up nicely.
Martha pieced these quilts for Great Lakes Heritage Quilters Guild Charity’s. The quilting design is small roses. She made 2 quilts with these fabrics, Star Spangled allover design.
This stripy quilt is a little more modern and quilted with circles, Karen’s Beaded Curtain design.
Kelly’s quilt with Far East Leaf allover design. The quilt pattern is Jelly Roll Quilt from Missouri Star Quilting. Here’s a link to the tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68E8_a0SDPo.Here’s a close up of the blocks.
This is a special quilt pattern that represents the beat of a drum. It’s a gift for a drummer. The quilt design is Musical B2B. The batting is Hobbs 80/20. The backing is fleece.
The next quilt is fabric from Pat Bravo called Legendary. The quilt design is Peacock, the thread is
The next quilt is quilted with Ginko Garden by Ann Bright. The batting is Hobbs 80/20. The last picture is the very pretty quilt backing.
I’m posting some photos of table runners that are gifts so I’m not sharing the name of the maker. The first group were quilted on my Gammill quilting machine. This machine is for sale. (check prior post for details) There are 3 identical table runners with the strawberry print borders. The quilting design is LaFleur Panto082, cream color thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
The bottom table runner is more modern. I quilted this one on my Innova quilting machine. The quilting design is Modern Ties B2B, white thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
Go out and spread the seeds of love through quilting.
Part of my slow down plan involves selling one of my Longarm quilting machines. I’ve decided to let go of one of my quilting machines. I purchased the Gammill Classic Conventional Quilting Machine with 12′ table in 2013 for doing edge to edge quilting.
It’s a 1998 non-stitch regulated machine that was not used until 2013. This is an industrial machine that has a whole life ahead of it. The original owner who was in a car accident and unable to use it shortly after purchase. I took it to Accomplish Quilting and had it serviced and they confirmed that it had not been used for more than 1 -2 quilts.
In 2014 I added a Intelliquilter BasiQ computer to the machine. This is a computer that does pantograph/edge to edge quilt designs. The software can be easily upgraded with full custom features for $1,500. You can read more about Intelliquilter BasiQ at Intelliquilter. The BasiQ is already equipped with a collection of designs.
I will include some thread, bobbins, needles, machine oil, bobbin case, ruler plate, laser light, long ruler, Black light bulb and side clamps.
After market items added include new canvas leaders with zippers and Edge Rider Wheels. I also have leader grips added for easily attaching quilts on and off the machine without pins.
The table is easy to break down, move and set up.
This machine is a $16,000 value I’m offering for $13,000. This is a great machine. I’ll miss it when it’s gone but I no longer need 2 quilting machines since I’m retiring from customer quilting. You could have a quality computerized machine for less than the cost of a new longarm before adding a computer. These are industrial machines that are work horses and need very little care.
Linda T has a nice video on oiling and maintenance of her Gammill Maintenance Video There are also many other maintenance videos out there by Gammill and other longarm quilters that are a great source of info.
I’m located in Waterford, Michigan. Email or call me if you are seriously interested in a great Longarm Quilting Machine.
Connie made this lovely Painters Pallet Quilt. I love the tiny 9 patch blocks and Jo Morton fabrics. The quilting design is Damask, the batting Quilters Dream, and gold thread. The backing is a warm flannel. This is one she will be keeping. What a lovely traditional look.
