This is Deb’s beautiful embroidered SW quilt for her friend Della. If you click to enlarge the photos & look close you can see some Southwest bears quilted in red. A special quilt for a special friend. The blocks were stabilized and the embroidery was simply outlined.

Throws, throws & more throws
I have quilted a lot of throws this past week. These are two of Judy W’s quilts, the first has quilting design Gypsy Feathers by One Song Needle Arts. She chose a teal thread for this quilt and a muslin back. The next quilt is all musical prints for her son who is a drummer. The quilting design is called Jazz by Hermione Agee. The quilting design is a little harder to see over a busy print. We used a bright military gold color thread. The batting used for both quilts is a very light weight batting, Mountain Mist Cream Rose. The quilts were folded before taking photos so you can see that cotton battings have more of a memory than poly or wool batts.
Below is a T-shirt throw quilt made by Sue V for her daughter. It’s quilted with Circle’s Panto by Judith Kraker and a lime color thread. The backing is white sateen which looks very nice with the lime thread.
The photos below show Liz C’s flannel throw. This is a fun & fast quilt pattern called Hopscotch by The Quilt Patch Pattern Co. Liz has made several of these and they always turn out really nice. The quilt design is called Vivacious and it’s by Hermione Agee. I participated with her design club so you will see I have many of her designs in my collection. This has a pretty floral flannel backing. The batting is Hobbs 80/20. I have two more quilts finished for Liz & will have those photos in my next post.
Enjoy the summer weather & happy quilting!
Some Missouri Star quilt patterns
One of my clients, Pam, is hooked on some of the precuts & tutorial patterns offered by Missouri Star Quilts. This is one of many Falling Charm quilts that she has made. She can knock these quilt tops our really fast. The quilting design is Sparkling Bubbles by Wildflower quilting.
Another pattern Pam used is a variation of the Big Charm Star Quilt by MSQ’s. She personalized them with some Initials. These were also quilted with Sparkling Bubbles design. Both patterns are nice for I Spy fabrics.
Duck, duck, duck….
T-shirt Quilts
I make t-shirt quilts for customers and I also quilt t-shirt quilts that they prepare. This t-shirt quilt was made by MaryAnn B. Its quilted with Gingersnap by Apricot Moon. The thread is Glide Khaki, which matches the lettering in Oakland. The batting is Quilters Dream Wool.
Maryann also made this quilt from ties. It quilted with wavy lines & Quilters Dream wool batting. The ties were her son in laws & I hope this quilt brings her daughter comfort. Maryann designed this quilt herself. I think its probably the coolest Tie quilt I’ve seen yet!
Connies Log Cabin
This was one of the best pressed quilts I’ve worked on. Connie did a wonderful job piecing & pressing. The quilting is traditional Baptist Fan with Quilters Dream batting. This will look lovely on a bed.
The pic below shows the backside of her quilt.
This is also the time when I see a lot of quilts that are for graduation or taking to college. This is Janine’s quilt for her daughter. The quilting design is Jade with Poly-down batting. The poly-down batting provides a light weight with a nice drape.
Customer quilts in progress
Currently on a machine is Connie’s perfectly pressed log cabin quilt. Only a few more rows & this one will be finished
On the other machine is Deb’s Southwest Embroidery quilt. This will be custom quilted.
I get to see a wide variety of quilts. It’s a perk of being in this business.
Now, more coffee please!!!

Donna’s Triple 4 patch
This is a beauty! I had a hard time letting this quilt leave my house today. This is a Triple 4 patch. The quilting design is Curly Weave, the batting is Hobbs Wool & the thread is dark purple. The backing fabric is a dark plum but photo’d a bit lighter. Just love this quilt, Donna better keep her eye on it.
