Appliquick

I was fortunate to see Rosa Rojas at AQS demonstrate how to use the Appliquick tools for very small appliqué. There is a video of the same at The Quilt Show website. https://thequiltshow.com She is a delight.

I already have the tools but purchased the scissors, which are really, really nice, and more of her stabilizer. They really do help turn those small and sharp curves. She needle turned a small circle the size of a eraser head while we watched. It was pretty amazing!

A quilt for her brother

Colleen made this quilt for her brother, in exchange for a sewing machine that had belonged to his wife. She made it with that sewing machine. I think he’s really going to love it. The quilting design is Dazzle, poly down batting, yellow thread and muslin backing. I do not know the quilt top pattern. The first photo shows the true color of this quilt. Lovely!

Cheater Panel Wallhanging

Sometimes when I have a machine issue to resolve I need to stitch out to see if the fix worked. This was the case today. I changed a check spring then needed to test it to make sure any loops I was encountering were no longer happening. Instead of using plain old muslin I decided to just quilt a panel that I had hanging around for years. This is the panel quilted and the good news is the problem seems to be resolved.
