These two beauties just came off my machines. The first is a gift for a Veteran and the second is a Bonnie Hunter Quilt. Both Quilts were pieced by Martha S.
The veterans quilt is a design called Freedom. The design is by Apricot Moon. Martha chose blue thread & Hobbs 80/20 batting. She used a cool plaid backing.
The next quilt is a pattern by Bonnie Hunter called Hawks Nest. It’s in the Scraps and Shirttails II book. This is a scrappy quilt & a lot of work went into it. She chose Tapestry a digital design by Ann Bright. The thread is a golden cotton, and the batting is Hobbs 80/20 blend. The backing fabric is a Thimbleberries print that matched the quilt really well. Its a little hard to see the quilting in the photo. Click on the photo’s to enlarge.
If you’ve never checked out Bonnie Hunter web page it is Quiltville. Bonnie has a lot of fun patterns for making scrap quilts. She is a great teacher & a lot of fun. If you get a chance to hear her speak you won’t be disappointed.
